NEW YORK bans TCEP (flame retardant) in CHILDCARE PRODUCTS and TOYS

The state of New York has banned the flame retardant TCEP (Tris (2-chloroethyl) phosphate) from certain children’s products intended for use by children under three years of age.
Children’s products covered by the new law are:

  • TOYS;
  • CHILD CARE PRODUCTS such as:
    - car seat,
    - nursing pillow,
    - crib mattresses,
    - stroller,
    - baby products.

These products cannot be sold or offered for sale after the 1st December 2013 if they contain TCEP.
