The United States has published a new regulation for toddler beds: 16 CFR 1217 and a subsequent correction. The new regulation requires that toddler beds must comply with ASTM F 1821-09, "Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toddler Beds".
Some modifications have been defined in this regulation related to the openings in the sides, the mechanical strength of the guardrails, the warnings etc.
Beginning October 20, 2011, the new regulation will require that toddler beds marketed in the US must be tested by a CPSC accredited laboratory.
