Success at American International TOY FAIR 2011

We are pleased to report that American International Toy Fair in New York was a success for ICQ USA. 2011 marked the largest attendance in Toy Fair history. We met with toy manufacturers, retailers and other industry professionals; learning their concerns and assisting those with quality and testing issues. Many of our visitors had specific interest in the ICQ Safe Toys® certification mark and ICQ's EU CE mark capabilities.

Our Hong Kong laboratory has been accredited by the U.S. CPSC as a third-party conformity assessment body as required under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008.
ICQ (HK) Limited has been placed on the CPSC’s list of accredited labs (http://www.cpsc.gov/cgi-bin/labapplist.aspx) to test for the following:
- Lead Paint regulation at 16 CFR Part 1303
- Lead Content in Children’s Metal Jewelry, in accordance with the CPSC Laboratory SOP for Determining Total Lead Content in Children's Metal Jewelry, CPSC-CH-E1001-08
- Lead Content in Children's Metal Products, Test Method CPSC-CH-E1001-08
- Lead Content in Children's Non-Metal Products, Test Method CPSC-CH-E1002-08
Meeting with the Honorable Congresswoman Mrs. Allyson Y. Schwartz

On Monday, April 19, 2010 ICQ USA hosted a meeting with the Honorable Congresswoman Mrs. Allyson Y. Schwartz (http://schwartz.house.gov/) of Pennsylvania, a tireless supporter of children's rights. Also in attendance were Ms. Julie Slavet, 13th District President, and respected members of Philadelphia University: Dr. Steven Spinelli, President; Dr. David Brookstein, Dean of the School of Engineering and Textiles; and Dr. John Pierantozzi, Special Assistant to the President.
Philadelphia University and ICQ have entered into an agreement to create a synergistic partnership to optimize ICQ-USA/ITAPS respective competencies to support research-based evaluations and risk assessment of consumer products and apparel, particularly those destined for infants, toddlers, and children. Based in Como, Italy, ICQ is one of a handful of respected institutions that specializes in the analysis, inspection, and quality control for consumer products worldwide. ICQ-USA is the parent company’s second international branch and first US location.
"ICQ is extremely pleased to have a facility and extend services in the United States and to partner with this distinguished group of leaders who share the passion for consumer safety," said Dr. Natale Consonni, President of ICQ Group, "our work at ICQ is “for the benefit of the children”."
ICQ USA is a 6,000 sq ft consumer products safety laboratory with expert competence in chemical analysis and flammability testing. ICQ USA is headed by Ms. Nancy Rivera, General Manager and Mr. Carlos F. Juarez, Laboratory Manager.
